Yvonne began her career in a brokerage in London in the 1980s and has since seen many changes in the financial services industry. She joined HJP in 2008 and was made director in 2017.

Yvonne believes it is important to look at the complete picture when looking at finances and so is a great advocate of lifestyle financial planning (also known as Cash flow modelling). This entails looking at an individual's income & outgoings & taking into account their future plans & goals.

Yvonne works a lot with solicitors and accountants, mainly with private clients on wills, trusts and probate.

Yvonne specialises in dealing with investment planning, inheritance tax planning and how to pay for nursing home fees, having gained her long term care accreditation. A lot of her clients are vulnerable (due to age) and she understands the need to have the family involved. The client feels better as their children know what’s going on and the children feel better as they know what is being organised and have confidence that there will be sufficient funds to pay for care home fees.

She also likes working with female clients to help them understand the importance of financial planning and understand what they have (or haven’t got.) Cash flow planning helps with this as it is more visual. She also feels it is never too early to start a pension & frequently recommends grandparents take out pensions for their grandchildren.

Yvonne is a member of Personal Finance Society and Chartered Insurance Institute and has achieved her Diploma from the Personal Finance Society, working towards individual Chartered status. Yvonne is also on the executive committee of Dorking Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of work, Yvonne has three adult children, enjoys frequent trips to France (having worked in France for a while), sailing and is learning to play golf.

The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.

Although anyone can contribute to a Pension for a child only the parent/legal guardian can open the Pension for them.

Will writing and probate involves the referral to a service that is separate and distinct to those offered by St. James's Place and along with Trusts are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
