Leighanne Metcalfe

Leighanne joined HJP in 2017, having previously worked in retail. She joined HJP as an administrator and has gradually completed all her exams, gaining a diploma in regulated financial planning in 2019.

In March 2023, Leighanne completed the SJP Financial Adviser Academy to qualify as a Financial Adviser, and more recently completed the necessary exams to gain Chartered status in May 2025.

Leighanne is passionate about everyone receiving a holistic approach to financial advice. She strives to build lasting long-term relationships with all her clients.

She believes advice should be unique for each individual and should evolve as our life circumstances change. As a female adviser, she also understands the different challenges and financial decisions women often face. She believes that women deserve financial advice that is tailored to them. For her, financial wellbeing means finding out more about money and how to manage it, so you feel confident in taking control and making decisions.

She also specialises in long-term care planning. Whether it’s you or a loved one who needs long-term care either now or in the future, it can be a worrying and confusing time for everyone. Arranging and funding the care you need isn’t always straightforward.*

In her spare time, Leighanne enjoys playing flute with a local amateur wind band and walking the family dogs.

*This may involve a referral to Karehero (previously Care Sourcer), a care navigator and matching service provider, whose services are separate and distinct to those offered by St. James's Place.

About

60 second interview

What attracted you to work in this industry?

Honestly, I didn’t know what I was getting into, I was attracted by friendly people when I came for my interview. What keeps me here is that I find people fascinating, we look after people from all walks of life and they all have a story to tell.

How long have you been doing this job?

I have been with HJP for a little over 5 years, prior to this I did something completely different!

What has been your key accomplishment in your career so far?

Obtaining my diploma in Regulated Financial planning, it felt like a huge achievement after the hours of studying!

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

Seeing a case/piece of client work through from start to finish, especially when we can tell we’ve made a difference to a client or taken away just a little bit of stress or worry.

If you didn’t work in this job, where do you think you would work?

I'd like to say I would have trained to be a pilot or something exciting, but I would have probably become an accountant!
